Helm stores data securely using full disk encryption using keys that are managed by a Secure Enclave.
Only authorized devices can pair and connect with your Helm Personal Server for management. Strong two-factor authentication is created with a one-time Bluetooth-enabled proximity token plus your private password.
Your information is encrypted, stored offsite, and only accessible to you using your unique recovery key, stored on your phone and a USB recovery key provided with your Helm.
Helm hardware and software are assessed and audited by 3rd-party security experts to ensure they are as secure as possible.
To protect your device from being hacked, we offer hackers rewards to detect and report vulnerabilities.
Secure Operating System
The Helm Personal Server runs a secure and minimal Linux-based operating system built using Yocto.

It leverages well-known open-source projects like Docker, Postfix, Dovecot, Let's Encrypt, Nextcloud and more bundled into easy-to-use services.

Innovative Hardware
Helm is engineered to dissipate heat through its aluminum base without using a fan resulting in a silent device.

Each device comes with 120 GB of durable SSD storage and a slide-in tray designed for a 2.5" hard drive, increasing storage up to 5 TB.
Seamless Networking
The Helm personal server connects with your existing home network. Network configuration is not required for email services.

To learn more about how Helm privately tunnels traffic to and from your Helm server, please read our blog post on Helm networking.
Protecting Your Privacy
We only have data about our customers that's necessary to deliver the device, route traffic to it and ensure it is operating smoothly.

A core tenet for our company that drives our product design decisions is to know as little about our customers as possible.
Five minute setup: Setting up your Helm Personal Server is easy and fast. Using your iOS or Android phone and the Helm app, set up is done in a few simple steps.
Easily connect all of your devices to access your data on your desktops, laptops, and phone.
Easily add and remove users from a single device. Add and configure email domains and aliases, file and photo storage and contacts for each user.
Break free from big tech by migrating your existing data to your Helm Personal Server. Only you have access to your data.
